Blake Uhlig is an M.A. candidate in International Relations at Johns Hopkins SAIS, where he researches African politics and governance. His research is focused on the Maghreb and Central Africa.
For a travel guide, Blake has documented hundreds of political sites in Europe, North Africa, and West Africa, including extensive on-the-ground research in Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, and France. This winter, he crossed the Sahara by bus through Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Senegal.
At SAIS, he serves as the Managing Editor of the SAIS Observer, Events Chair of the Africa Club and VP of Social Engagement of the French Club. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of Media OCU.
Blake received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Oklahoma City University and a Diploma of Political Science from Sciences Po Rennes.
