Jillian Proshan

McCain Institute Junior Fellow

Jillian Proshan recently graduated from Georgetown University (C’25) with honors, where she studied English and Jewish Civilization. She completed two theses for her degree, one on the rise in campus protests since October 7th, 2023, and the other on the forgotten American poet, Edwin Arlington Robinson. She also spent a year abroad at the University of Oxford in England. In the fall, she will attend the University of St Andrews in Scotland for an MLitt in Terrorism and Political Violence.

Jillian has extensive experience working as a teaching, research, and departmental assistant at Georgetown, supporting projects and classes related to international politics, human rights law, history, and English literature. She has conducted research and contributed to works published in outlets including CNN, MSNBC, and The Atlantic. In previous summers, Jillian interned at the law firm Meitar in New York City and the Galicia Jewish Museum in Kraków, Poland. She also participated in two Centennial Labs at Georgetown, traveling to France to conduct forensic investigations of the Holocaust and the DMV area to research far-right propaganda.

In her free time, Jillian enjoys reading poetry, watching mountaineering documentaries, swimming, and spending time with her dog, Sonny Boy.
