On Tuesday, February 27, the McCain Institute for International Leadership hosted a breakfast conversation with the Right Honourable George Osborne on the topic, “Populism, Democracy, and the Future of the West: A View From the United Kingdom.”
George Osborne, the McCain Institute’s 2017 Kissinger Fellow, is the editor of the London Evening Standard. He was previously the conservative member of Parliament for Tatton, Cheshire, and was first elected to the House of Commons in June 2001. Osborne served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2010 to 2016 – one of the longest periods anyone has held the office. Following the successful election of a Conservative Government in 2015, he also served as First Secretary of State.
