On Thursday, November 5, the McCain Institute hosted the fourth installment of the Human Trafficking Conversation Series, “Domestic Child Sex Trafficking and the Child Welfare Response.” The discussion highlighted recently introduced legislation aimed at strengthening the foster care system and advocacy efforts to address systemic gaps in knowledge, policies and procedures within local child welfare agencies in the United States.
Through the Human Trafficking Conversation Series, the McCain Institute seeks to raise awareness and educate the public on the complex issue that is human trafficking and ways that we can help eliminate it.
