Human Rights & Democracy
Samuel Childerson is a second-year law student at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, currently serving as a junior fellow with the Human Rights & Democracy team at the McCain Institute. At the College of Law, Sam serves as the vice president of external affairs for the school’s International Law Society, is an associate editor for "Jurimetics, The Journal for Law, Science, and Technology," and was a justice court mediator in the Lodestar Mediation Clinic. Sam has also spent time volunteering as a graduate fellow with the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations. Through ASU’s International Rule of Law and Security program, Sam spent last summer in Dili, Timor-Leste interning with the country’s preeminent legal NGO specializing in parliamentary and judicial monitoring.
Sam is from a small town in southern Illinois and completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he graduated with a degree in business economics and finance, Summa Cum Laude. In his free time Sam enjoys running, reading up on foreign policy and traveling. After law school Sam hopes to pursue a career working in public international law.
