Konstantin Popkov has devoted himself to promoting and developing young leaders in Russia. He is active in democratic civil society, training young professionals in responsible and ethical business practices. Popkov plans to create an enhanced leadership program in Russia that focuses on ethics, values, and fighting corruption. He spent his NGL year at the Boys and Girls Club of America in Tampa, Florida, where he participated in its full training cycle for grass-roots character-driven youth leaders.
Popkov was one of the four recipients of the 2019 McCain Institute Catalyst Grant, which he used to secure a leadership training center in Moscow that fostered greater reach across Russia. While he was unable to find a physical location for his center due to recent world events, his leadership center is now fully operational online with a newly developed website offering public speaking and communication courses and his leadership club has 84 alumni members. He has also created partnerships with numerous leading universities in the area for his leadership development programs and was invited to deliver a two day leadership seminar by the Tarsatan government.
