Commanding General, U.S. Army Pacific
General Charles A. Flynn assumed command of the United States Army's largest Service Component Command, U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), on June 4, 2021 headquartered at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Previously, he served as deputy chief of staff for Army operations, plans, and training at the Pentagon. He has served in a variety of command, staff, and leadership positions from platoon leader to division commander with many of these key positions in the Indo-Pacific Theater. He is a graduate of the United States Naval War College with a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies and a graduate of the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS) with a Master’s Degree in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy from National Defense University.
