Former United States Ambassador to Hungary

Ambassador David Pressman recently concluded his tenure as United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary. He was previously the United States Ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, serving as the senior U.S. negotiator on international disputes around the world, and prior to that role served as Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security and the Director for War Crimes and Atrocities on the White House National Security Council staff.

An international human rights and national security litigator, and partner at the law firm Jenner & Block LLP, Ambassador Pressman represents some of the country’s most prominent clients facing a range of business, legal, and reputational threats. His global practice has included representing victims of terrorism, hostages held overseas, and dissidents targeted by authoritarian regimes.

Ambassador Pressman has led multiple organizations committed to advancing international human rights, including serving as the founding executive director of the Clooney Foundation for Justice.
