LTC Justin Hegg is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and an officer in the U.S. Army. Commissioned through ROTC in 2009, he began his career as an Infantry officer with the 172nd Infantry Brigade in Grafenwöhr, Germany, where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2013, Justin transitioned to the Military Intelligence branch. He served as a Battalion Intelligence Officer and Company Commander within the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. In 2017, he was selected for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). During his tenure in the Special Operations community, he served in several key leadership roles—including Company Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, and Operations Officer—and completed multiple overseas deployments. He begins his next assignment at the Pentagon this May.
Justin holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, a Master’s in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University, and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Justin currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland, and enjoys spending his free time with his two young sons.
