Melissa Travers is an Australian national security professional with over 14 years of experience working to counter threats from
terrorism, espionage, and foreign interference. In her current role as a Counter-Terrorism Mission Centre Manager, Melissa leads collaborative Australian intelligence and law enforcement efforts to identify, understand and disrupt violent extremist threats to Australia. In previous roles, Melissa established new analytical and operational capabilities to enhance Australia’s national security, including by building innovative, multi-agency programs to discover and combat strategic and emerging threats. Melissa has a strong interest in driving innovation and collaboration to solve intelligence problems, including by breaking down organizational and cultural barriers to achieve success. Melissa holds a Bachelor of International Relations from the Australian National University, and a Graduate Certificate in Terrorism, Safety and Security from Charles Sturt University.
