Jean Edwidge

Haiti

Jean Edwidge was born, raised, and college-educated in Gonaives, Haiti. After his studies, he became a high school teacher, teaching history and geography to 12th grade students. As a teacher, he was interested not only in the subjects he taught, but in his students’ minds and personalities. He has also worked as Civil Servant at the Haitian Prime Minister’s Office as State Administrator, as an intern at the Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism (GRFT), and at the Organization of American States (OAS). Today, Jean Edwidge is a consultant at United Nations Development Programme. He is also a co-founder of the HAITI Migration Group, an organization whose mission is to contribute to better migration policy development in Haiti. Jean has a master’s degree in international migration. In his spare time, he loves to cook and learn about different cultures.
