Become a R.E.A.L. Friends Don’t Ambassador

We all know the internet can be an awesome place. But it can also be a very dangerous place for kids and teens if you don’t know what to watch out for. We’re here to help keep you and your friends safe in the digital world and are looking for ten awesome teens to help us spread the word about what R.E.A.L. Friends do – and don’t do.

We’re not here to tell you how to live your life, or what you should or shouldn’t do online. We’re here to help you identify the bad actors and arm you and your peers with the tools you need to stay safe online.

What You’d Do

R.E.A.L. Friends Don’t Ambassadors will work with our team to spread awareness and help us better represent the populations we are serving by advising on outreach approaches and program activities.

Engage – You are the experts! Help us understand the ins and outs of how you use social media and gaming platforms and the best way to share our message with teens.

Promote and Protect – Use your voice both IRL and online to make sure other teens know how to watch out for bad actors and what to do if something makes them uncomfortable or goes wrong.

Cultivate New Ideas – Have an idea related to keeping kids and teens safe online? Let us know and together we make it happen!

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for ten driven high school students to represent the R.E.A.L. Friends Don’t campaign by using their voice and experiences to help protect themselves and their peers from exploitation.

This is a volunteer role that will take approximately five-seven hours per month. Ambassadors are expected to be actively engaged in campaign activities for the 2021-2022 academic year.

We welcome and encourage all individuals to apply who hope to be advocates for those who face an increased risk of exploitation, such as BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth.

Intrigued? You should be! Fill out the form for a chance to be considered.

Interested in nominating someone else? You can complete a nomination form on their behalf.
