The McCain Institute at Arizona State University today released panel video recordings and photos from the inaugural Sedona Forum – Tokyo, held January 15, in Japan. The theme, “The U.S.-Japan Alliance — Advancing Freedom, Innovation and Security in Asia and Beyond,” covered topics ranging from China and Taiwan, global and diplomatic security challenges, AI, technology, energy, and more.
Highlights include:
- A conversation with Japan’s first female Minister of Finance, Satsuki Katayama.
- A “Four Star Tour of the World” keynote discussion between Gen. (Ret.) David Petraeus and McCain Institute Executive Director Dr. Evelyn N. Farkas.
- A discussion led by the Washington Post Intelligence’s Josh Rogin on global security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
- A dialogue on sports and cultural diplomacy with Chairperson for the Foundation for Encouragement of Social Contribution Akie Abe, 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Keiji Suzuki, and more.
- Panels on technology, AI, energy and national security, as well as China, Taiwan, and the future of regional stability.
