Development Coordinator
Sarah Chapman serves as the Development Coordinator at the McCain Institute. In this role, she supports the senior director of development to cultivate donor relationships and coordinate fundraising initiatives that advance the McCain Institute’s mission and programs. Prior to joining the McCain Institute, Sarah worked as a Project Officer for the World Movement for Democracy at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). In this role, she managed the Hurford Youth Fellowship and global youth initiatives supporting young democracy advocates working to strengthen democratic institutions and prevent democratic backsliding. She joined NED in 2021, first as a Research Associate and then as the Program Assistant for the Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows program, where she provided research assistance and operational support to democracy activists in residence developing original projects to support freedom and human rights in their home countries. While at NED, she also provided emergency response assistance to fellows, including relocation services, visa and housing support, and bridging fund provision.
Sarah holds an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University’s School of International Service and a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish Area Studies from Kenyon College. She is fluent in Spanish.
