Alina Burkholder

Alina Burkholder is currently the director of Atlantik-Brücke’s New Bridge Program, a fellowship she developed to offer emerging leaders from marginalized communities in Germany and the United States the opportunity to engage in an interdisciplinary exchange on transatlantic relations. An advocate for inclusive conversations and a firm believer in their transformative power, Alina is committed to defending democracy by amplifying voices traditionally underrepresented in international affairs and by fostering a more connected and empathetic world. Her prior roles include managing the largest ever public diplomacy campaign run by the German government at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., and overseeing the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program, both initiatives aimed at promoting and deepening German-American relations. Based in Stuttgart, Germany, Alina has cultivated a rich international perspective through her experiences living and working in the United States, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand. Alina holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in cross-cultural psychology.
