Charlie Shandil


Charlie Shandil is an executive with the Australian Public Service, where he has worked for consecutive prime ministers across a range of issues including global governance, national security, immigration, and innovation. Currently, Charlie is a Director in the Australian Government, where he works at the intersection of national security, technology policy, international affairs, and the Five Eyes Program. In addition to his public service career, Charlie has held board positions in the non-profit sector focusing on international development and social justice. In a testament to his achievements, Charlie was awarded the distinguished Chartered Accountants Leadership in Government Award, the Macquarie Global Leadership Award, and he was also named a Distinguished Young Alumni from his alma mater, the University of Queensland. Charlie's achievements were also recognized internationally when he was appointed an Obama Leader (Asia Pacific) in 2019, and a Millennium Fellow at the Atlantic Council in 2021. Charlie holds a Master in Public Administration (Canberra), Executive Certificate in Public Leadership (Harvard), Postgraduate Certificate in Politics & Public Policy (Macquarie), and a Bachelor of Science (Queensland).
