Dr. Erkaiym Mambetalieva is an anti-corruption specialist and founding director of the Anticorruption Center under the Bishkek Mayor’s Office on Corruption Prevention.  Dr. Mambetalieva received her Ph.D. from the High Attestation Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic and established her credibility in the field of anti-corruption through her work at the National Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic on Corruption Prevention. Dr. Mambetalieve seeks to create an independent anti-corruption institution that will implement preventative mechanisms within the public and private sectors to reduce corruption within the Kyrgyzstan.

Dr. Mambetalieva was one of the four recipients of the 2019 McCain Institute Catalyst Grant, which she received to assist her anti-corruption training initiatives in leading universities around the country. Using the grant, Dr. Mambetalieva formulated an Anti-Corruption Policy course with an emphasis on character-driven leadership which she used to train over 80 professors from nine universities in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Naryn State University regions. These trainings have allowed teachers to include anti-corruption modules within their given curriculums, helping to contribute to a culture of corruption awareness, especially in the youth of Kyrgyzstan.
