Chief of Staff, U.S. Representative David Price (D - NC)

Justin Wein currently serves as Chief of Staff to Congressman David Price, Chairman of the Transportation and Housing Appropriations Subcommittee, a senior member of the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee and the Homeland Security Subcommittee, and an Assistant Democratic Whip. In this role he serves as a senior policy advisor to the Congressman and serves as his liaison to Congressional leadership and The White House. He is also responsible for managing all aspects of the North Carolina and DC offices, all personnel management decisions, and formation and execution of the annual office budget. He also serves as the lead Democratic staffer for the House Democracy Partnership (HDP), which Congressman Price helped establish and currently serves as Chairman. He is a recognized leader in governance issues and international affairs, having traveled to more than a two dozen countries to assess and train legislative staff and elected officials. He was previously a Fellow in the Penn Kemble Forum on Democracy through the National Endowment for Democracy. Prior to serving as Chief of Staff he served as both Washington Office Director and Legislative Director for Congressman Price, initially joining the office in 2012 as the principal advisor for Congressman Price in his role as the top Democrat, and former Chairman, on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. Mr. Wein joined Congressman Price after more than seven years working for Nita M. Lowey of New York, the former Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee. Mr. Wein has handled 11 of 12 annual Appropriations bills and their associated policy portfolios. A native of Syosset, New York, Mr. Wein graduated with a degree in Political Science from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University. He resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife and two young children.
