Rita Saias currently works as an Advisor on Youth and Intergenerational Dialogue to the President of the Portuguese Republic and is the co-host of a radio show on political matters at TSF Radio. Over the past years, she led the Portuguese National Youth Council, was member of the Executive Committee of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth and Youth Forum Lisboa+21 and worked as a Consultant for UNICEF – São Tomé and Principe. She started her career in the third sector working and volunteering for local and international NGOs in Portugal, Mozambique and São Tomé and Principe. Her greatest passion as an advocate for youth is the power of young generations to unlock development and innovation through meaningful and effective participation. Rita holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and is undergoing her master’s degree with a dissertation on the application of a Basic Income to young people in Portugal.
