McCain Institute Announces Washington Post Moderators, Confirmed In-Person Speakers for Sedona Forum 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The McCain Institute at Arizona State University today announced a distinguished list of confirmed in-person speakers for the Sedona Forum 2022, including leading journalists from The Washington Post who will drive impactful conversations as part of the Sedona Forum’s first-ever media partnership.

As world leaders, high-ranking officials, journalists, humanitarians and other newsmakers gather for this one-of-a-kind event, we look forward to fostering discussions that will produce actionable solutions to our world’s most pressing challenges and honor the legacy of Senator John McCain,” said Director of the Sedona Forum Davis White.

Moderators from The Washington Post include Global Opinions Columnist Josh Rogin, NASA and Space industry Reporter Christian Davenport and Intelligence and National Security Staff Writer Shane Harris. They will host discussions on topics ranging from national security and space to Russia and China as part of the Sedona Forum 2022 theme “Strategic Competition.”

Speakers at the 2022 Sedona Forum will include Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, U.S. Special Operations Commander General Richard Clarke, former U.S. Defense Secretary Dr. Mark T. Esper, World Food Kitchen CEO Nate Mook, a bipartisan delegation of at least 15 U.S. senators and members of Congress including U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn), former Australia Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop, U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai, FBI Director Christopher Wray and more.

The Sedona Forum 2022 will take place Thursday, April 28 – Saturday, April 30, with the theme “Strategic Competition.” For the first time, the annual gathering will take place both virtually and in-person, with virtual programming scheduled Thursday, April 28, and in-person events scheduled Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30, in Sedona, Ariz.

Also, for the first time, some in-person programming at the Sedona Forum will be livestreamed by the McCain Institute.

The Sedona Forum brings together top government officials, policymakers, humanitarians, journalists and corporate industry leaders from around the world to discuss solutions for today’s most urgent and complex challenges. The 2022 Sedona Forum will focus strongly on Russia’s assault on Ukraine, as well as China’s approach to democracy and human rights. Now in its ninth year, the Sedona Forum honors Senator John McCain’s legacy by continuing to champion the ideas and causes he dedicated his life to serving.
