Anna Serdiuk

Editor-in-Chief, Vilne Radio

Anna Serdiuk is the editor-in-chief of Vilne Radio, an independent local media outlet founded in the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Originally from Kharkiv, she spent five years working in the Donetsk region before evacuating her team following Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, continuing the outlet's work from displacement.

Since 2013, Anna has been working as a journalist and media manager, focusing on politics, economics, and local budgeting. Vilne Radio provides reliable information for residents of the Donetsk region, including those who have relocated to other parts of Ukraine due to safety concerns, or remained in both non-occupied and occupied territories. The outlet covers stories from both sides of the frontline, giving voice to people separated by war.

Anna is working on building a bridge between neighbors who were separated by war and now feel animosity toward each other. She has researched post-war reconciliation in the Balkans as a reference point for Ukraine's future reintegration, authoring several articles on the subject. Anna believes independent local media will play a central role in reconstruction and is committed to ensuring the voices of eastern Ukrainians are part of that conversation.
